St. Patrick's Day

My favorite holiday is coming up and that is St. Patrick's Day!  It's not really a holiday, per se', but to me it is!  It should be a day off work for some people, but it's not.  When I was younger, we always had to have our green on.  And then when I had my own kids they always had to have their green on and I would always make a green cake with green frosting for dessert.  I love that I'm Irish and I look forward to this day every year!  Here are some of my favorite Irish sayings....

Here's to you and yours
And to mine and ours.
And if mine and ours
Ever come across to you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do
As much for mine and ours
As mine and ours have done
For you and yours!

May the luck of the Irish
Lead to happiest heights
And the highway you travel
Be lined with green lights.

May your troubles be less
And your blessings be more.
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door.

Wherever you go and whatever you do,
May the luck of the Irish be there with you.

As you slide down the banister of life,
May the splinters never point the wrong way.

May everyone have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Shamrocks

Today I'm going to show you something I made, since this is the month for St. Patrick's Day.  I love anything Irish and I wanted something to hang from my car rear view mirror.  I googled for a shamrock shape and enlarged it to the size that would work well for my project.  Like this
I found some material that I liked at the local craft store.  Of course, it had to have shamrocks on it.
I just sewed them together, left about a 2 inch opening so I could stuff it with polyfil.  Clip the curves and turn it right side out.  Then, you stuff it and hand stitch the opening.  I added some embellishments like ribbons and some little tibetan silver charms that I purchased on ebay.

I think they turned out pretty good.  What do you think?

ERIN GO BRAGH!!!!!

Voting

How many of you went to vote today?  I've been living in Michigan for almost 4 yrs and today was the first time I voted in Michigan.  It was easy and fast.  I have to say I'm a democrat.  I just can't understand the fascination people have with Trump.  He's arrogant and I just think he would say the wrong things to other heads of countries and we would be in a war in a minute.  Why can't people see that?  Just because he's belligerent and arrogant doesn't mean he will make a good president.

Imagine

Imagine if life was all roses and wine.
Imagine if there were no hurt or death.
Imagine if everyone could get along.
Imagine if there were no divorce.  Hmmm, that wouldn't be very good.  There would probably be more deaths!  Ok, don't imagine there were no divorces! LOL
Imagine if there were no hurt animals.
Imagine if every child had a loving home.
Imagine if no one ever was hungry.
Imagine if a grandmother could talk to her granddaughter.
Imagine if a daughter wasn't so coldhearted and vengeful.
Imagine if your sister was a better sister.
Imagine if life was easy.
Imagine if life were perfect!
Imagine if.............

Reba

I told you in a recent post that we have a ragdoll cat.  She's 5 and just so beautiful!  I got her when she was a few months old.  I saw her on the ragdoll site and just fell in love with her.  They had already named her Reba, so I kept that name.  I love Reba McIntyre, too!  Reba is a big, fluffy and soft cat.  She likes to be kept to herself.  She doesn't like to be held.  Her nickname around here is "The Queen Mum".  LOL  She thinks she's queen of the house!  Anytime we have any empty boxes laying around, she loves to jump in them and go to sleept.  But, that would be me!  Haha!  Here are a few pictures of her.  Let me know what you think.  Isn't she beautiful?

A few weeks ago we went to the snow and ice carving festival in Frankenmuth, MI.  It was an awesome time.  It wasn't too cold.  I think it was the right temperature to keep the carvings cold enough and warm enough to keep people from freezing their tails off!  We walked up and down the streets to make sure we saw everything that was being shown.  I love Frankenmuth!  It's a nice little german town in Michigan.  Here are few of the highlights that we saw.

If you get a chance, you should really try to check this city out.  You won't regret it!
